Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Rissani – Merzouga Desert (Erg Chebbi)
Your Sahara adventure begins with a 7:00 AM pick-up from your hotel or riad in Fes. Travel south through the picturesque Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping at panoramic viewpoints and charming towns along the way. Your first major stop is in Ifrane, often called “the Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture and clean streets.

Continue to the cedar forests of Azrou, where you may encounter wild Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. As you journey through the Atlas Mountains, enjoy the changing landscapes—from lush forests to arid plateaus.

Pass through the town of Rissani, a historic trading center and gateway to the desert, before arriving at the majestic Erg Chebbi sand dunes near Merzouga. Here, you’ll embark on a 90-minute camel trek through the golden dunes, timed to capture the beauty of the sunset over the Sahara.

Arrive at a traditional Berber desert camp, where you’ll be welcomed with mint tea. Enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner followed by an evening of Berber music around the campfire. Spend the night in a comfortable tent under a sky filled with stars.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert – Middle Atlas Mountains – Fes
Wake up early to witness the magical sunrise over the dunes, a breathtaking start to the day. After freshening up and breakfast at a nearby hotel, ride your camel back to the starting point.

Begin your return journey to Fes, retracing your path through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, take in the stunning natural scenery and reflect on your unforgettable Sahara desert experience. Your driver will drop you off at your accommodation in Fes in the late afternoon, marking the end of your 2-day desert tour.
