Day 1: Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive through the Rif Mountains, passing the city of Tetouan. Along the way, we’ll pause to enjoy the breathtaking landscapes before arriving in the picturesque town of Chefchaouen, nestled at the foot of the Rif Mountains. Known for its striking blue-washed buildings, Chefchaouen’s medina reflects Spanish architectural influences from its time under Spanish rule. Wander through its vibrant square filled with colorful artisan shops, and relax in a rooftop café or riad terrace, taking in the fresh breeze and panoramic views.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After breakfast, we head towards the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, passing through Ouazzane and charming Rif villages. In Volubilis, explore the well-preserved archaeological site and learn about Morocco’s Roman heritage. We then continue to Meknes, where we’ll stop for lunch and visit historical landmarks including the grand Bab el-Mansour gate and the shrine of Sultan Moulay Ismail. In the late afternoon, we journey to Fes, where we’ll spend the night in a traditional riad or hotel.
Day 3: Exploring Fes – Guided City Tour
Today is dedicated to discovering the cultural capital of Morocco – Fes. We begin at the impressive Royal Palace gates, followed by the Mellah (Jewish Quarter), home to Morocco’s first Jewish community from the 16th century. Our guided tour includes visits to key historical sites: the University of Al Quaraouiyine (the oldest university in the world), the colorful Chouara Tanneries, the Attarine Madrasa, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss. After lunch, explore local artisan cooperatives and enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Fes Medina.
Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
We depart early and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco”, and the cedar forest of Azrou, home to native Barbary macaques. We continue through the Tizi N’Talghamt Pass and the scenic Ziz Gorge, making stops for photos and traditional mint tea. After lunch in Midelt, we drive towards the desert, arriving in Merzouga where a warm welcome and a magical night at a desert camp under the stars awaits you.
Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorge
After enjoying a desert sunrise and breakfast, we head to a nearby hotel to freshen up before starting our journey to the spectacular Todra Gorge. En route, we pass through several Berber villages. At Todra, towering limestone cliffs provide one of Morocco’s best rock-climbing and hiking spots. We then continue to the beautiful Dades Valley, where we will spend the night in a charming local hotel or guesthouse.
Day 6: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Following breakfast, we travel along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, stopping in Kalaat M’Gouna, known for its annual Rose Festival and rosewater cooperatives. We continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa”, then explore the ancient ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its appearance in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. By evening, we cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and arrive in Marrakech.
Day 7: Marrakech – Guided City Tour
A full day of discovery in the vibrant Red City. Visit iconic sites such as the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the bustling Jemaa el-Fnaa square. Wander through the colorful souks, then explore modern neighborhoods like Gueliz. You’ll also visit the tranquil Menara Gardens and the famous Majorelle Garden, once owned by Yves Saint Laurent. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and free time in the afternoon to explore on your own.
Day 8: Marrakech – Airport Transfer
