Day 2: Marrakech City Tour

After breakfast, explore the highlights of Marrakech with a local guide. Walk through the narrow streets of the Medina, visit its lively souks, and discover traditional stalls filled with spices, crafts, and textiles.

You’ll visit key sights such as:

  • Bahia Palace

  • Badia Palace

  • Koutoubia Mosque (from the outside)

  • Majorelle Garden

  • Jamaa el Fna Square

Your guide will share stories about the city’s history, architecture, and daily life. This guided tour offers a deeper look into Marrakech’s culture and traditions and gives you time to enjoy its most famous landmarks.

Day 3: Marrakech -- High Atlas Mountains -- Ait Ben Haddou -- Ouarzazate -- Dades Valley

Today is the first travel day of your 10 Days Morocco Itinerary. You’ll leave Marrakech and drive through the scenic High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass with stops for photos along the way.

Next, visit the ancient village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its traditional earthen architecture and historic kasbahs. After exploring the site, continue to Ouarzazate, a city known for its film studios and desert architecture.

The route then passes through the Skoura oasis and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. During spring, the Roses Valley is especially beautiful, with rose fields and small villages.

By late afternoon, you’ll reach Dades Valley, famous for its dramatic rock formations and winding roads. You’ll spend the night in a riad with a panoramic view of the valley.

Day 4: Dades Valley -- Todra Gorges -- Erfoud -- Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, drive through small Berber villages on the way to Todra Gorges. These towering limestone cliffs are a popular rock-climbing area and one of the most impressive canyons in Morocco. You’ll have time to walk along the river, take photos, and enjoy the gray and pink rock walls, palm trees, and oases.

You’ll then continue through Erfoud and several desert villages on the way to Merzouga. In the afternoon, you’ll arrive near the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, you’ll start a camel trek that lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes, crossing the dunes toward your desert camp.

On the way, you’ll stop on a high dune to watch the sunset and enjoy the peaceful desert views. You can also try sandboarding and take photos.

After sunset, continue to the desert camp, where you’ll be welcomed with mint tea. Enjoy a traditional dinner, followed by music around the campfire under the stars. Spend the night in a comfortable Merzouga desert camp. Dinner and breakfast are included.

Day 5:Merzouga Desert Tour

Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi. The light and colors at this time of day are unforgettable.

After breakfast, set out on a Merzouga desert tour by 4×4 to explore the surrounding area. You’ll visit a region where Berber nomad families live in simple tents and earn their living from herding camels, goats, and sheep. Spending time with them gives you a better idea of their traditions and daily life.

Continue to the Mifiss lead mine area, then drive to the village of Khamlia, about 5 kilometers from Merzouga. Here you’ll learn about Gnaoua music and culture and enjoy a traditional performance.

If your visit matches the main market days in Rissani (Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday), you’ll drive there to explore the local souk. This market is smaller than those in Marrakech or Fes but offers a more authentic look at daily trade, especially the sheep and cattle market and local bargaining.

Later, return to Merzouga, where you’ll have free time to relax, walk by the dunes, or enjoy the calm of the desert. Overnight in a hotel or riad in Merzouga.

Day 6:Merzouga -- Ziz Valley -- Midelt -- Cedar Forest -- Ifrane -- Fes

Wake up early again if you’d like to catch another sunrise over Erg Chebbi. You’ll have time for sandboarding if you wish. Then return to the village either by camel or by 4WD vehicle, depending on your choice.

From Merzouga, start the drive toward Fes. Pass through Errachidia, then stop at a viewpoint over the Ziz Valley, known for its long palm grove and traditional villages.

Continue to Midelt, where you’ll have a lunch break. Afterward, the road takes you through the Middle Atlas Mountains and the Cedar Forest, home to Barbary macaques. You can often see these monkeys near the roadside and in the forest.

Next, stop in Ifrane, a clean and quiet town with European-style architecture, sometimes called the “Little Switzerland” of Morocco. After a short visit, continue to Fes, where you’ll arrive in the evening and check in to your riad or hotel.

Day 7: Fes Guided City Tour

Today is dedicated to exploring Fes with a local guide. Fes is one of the most important cultural and spiritual cities in Morocco and has one of the oldest medinas in the world.

You’ll walk through different souk areas, including food, leather, clothing, and handicraft markets. Then visit key historical sites, such as:

  • Nejjarine Museum of Wooden Arts and Crafts

  • The famous tannery, where leather is dyed by hand using age-old methods

  • Traditional caravanserais and old houses inside the medina

You’ll also admire the architecture of religious schools like Bou Inania Madrasa and visit the University of Al Quaraouiyine, considered one of the oldest universities in continuous use. A stop at the mausoleum of Moulay Idriss II offers a look at an important spiritual site in the city.

During the tour, you’ll also have the chance to taste local street food and talk with residents, which gives a more personal view of daily life in Fes.

Day 8: Fes -- Volubilis -- Chefchaouen

After breakfast, leave Fes and drive through the Rif foothills toward Volubilis. You’ll visit the Roman ruins, which are among the best preserved in North Africa. Walk among the mosaics, pillars, and old streets and learn about the Roman presence in Morocco.

Then continue toward Chefchaouen, known as the “Blue City,” located in the Rif Mountains. Once you arrive, you’ll have free time to explore on your own.

Stroll through the narrow streets of the Medina, famous for their blue and white walls, colorful doors, and flower pots. Visit the old town market, relax in the main square (Outa el Hammam), and enjoy the calm atmosphere. You can also walk to the Ras Elma river, which flows from the mountains into the town and adds to the charm of the old city.

Day 9:Chefchaouen -- Rabat -- Casablanca

After breakfast and some free time in Chefchaouen, drive toward Rabat, the capital of Morocco. In Rabat, visit important sites such as:

  • Hassan Tower

  • The Mausoleum of Mohammed V

  • The Oudayas Kasbah with its old streets and ocean views

In the late afternoon, continue to Casablanca. Upon arrival, if time allows, visit the Hassan II Mosque from the outside, or take part in an interior guided visit if you arrive during visiting hours. This mosque is one of the largest in the world and sits right on the Atlantic coast.

Overnight in Casablanca.

Day 10:Departure from Casablanca Airport

According to your flight time, you’ll be transferred from your hotel to Casablanca Airport. Your 10 Days Morocco Itinerary from Marrakech will then come to an end, with drop-off at the terminal in time for your departure flight.
