2-Day Private Desert Tour: Marrakech to Merzouga Sahara

Day 1:Marrakech – Tizi n’Tichka – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Merzouga

We’ll pick you up from your hotel, riad, bus station, or the airport at your convenience. The journey begins with a scenic drive through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains, offering panoramic views and stops in traditional Berber villages.

Next, we’ll visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, a famous ksar used as a filming location for many movies. You’ll enjoy lunch either in Ait Benhaddou or Ouarzazate, where you can also explore the Kasbah Taourirt and the Atlas Film Studios.

From there, we continue through Tinghir, Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud, where you’ll begin to sense the transition into the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet. Upon arrival in Merzouga, check into your hotel for a short rest.

In the late afternoon, embark on a camel trek into the golden Erg Chebbi dunes, an unforgettable experience with incredible opportunities to capture the sunset. Once you reach the Desert Luxury Camp, enjoy sandboarding, watch the sunset from the highest dunes, and spend the evening under the stars with Berber drum music and a traditional dinner.

Day 2:Merzouga – Rissani – Ziz Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes, then ride camels back to Merzouga. After breakfast, set off in a 4×4 vehicle towards Rissani, passing through the lush palm groves of Tafilalet and the scenic Ziz Valley.

Along the way, explore traditional Berber villages and stop for photos or short visits in places of interest. Arrive in Ouarzazate, where you may revisit the film studios or simply enjoy lunch before continuing your return trip through the High Atlas Mountains.

Arrive back in Marrakech in the evening, where we will drop you off at your accommodation.
